My students have produced award-winning work and presented their photographs to groups of more than 100 people and industry leaders. They've gained acceptance into college photo programs, and been published. Five of my teen students were among the 20 finalists for the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards -- an international competition with more than 2,400 entires. Better than that, though, my students produce work that makes them proud. 

I love teaching! A student once gave me a card that said, "Thank you for teaching me to see beauty in the world." I consider it an honor to share what I can and bear witness to the vision that is present and unique in everyone. My favorite part of teaching is the a-ha moment when something finally clicks into place. My other favorite part is when a student creates a piece that far exceeds his or her expectations. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art with Honors in Photography and have more than five years experience teaching photography and developing curriculum in a classroom setting, primarily with at-risk youth between 13-19 years old. I am proud to be listed as a Teaching Artist on the Seattle Public Schools' Creative Advantage roster, and I completed the Washington State Teaching Artist Training Lab.
